While en route to the Kuiper Belt — Pluto's asteroid-littered cosmic neighborhood — the New Horizons spacecraft stopped for a quick sightseeing tour of Jupiter. In the image above, the spacecraft captured Jupiter's "Little Red Spot."
Like Jupiter's Great Red Spot, the little spot is a persistent weather storm on Jupiter's surface. Despite its size, the little red spot still packs a punch. In fact, its 400 MPH wind speeds rival those of its more famous big brother spot.
